You are invited to the
2nd Annual CFA NC Society
Investment Research Challenge
Saturday, February 20, 2010
Join us to see the best and brightest minds of the next generation in the investment profession.
CFA NC Society, along with other local CFA societies worldwide, is hosting the Investment Research Challenge in conjunction with participating universities the Bryan School of Business at UNC-Greensboro. The universities assemble teams of 3-5 business and finance students who work directly with a company in researching and preparing a company analysis. On February 20th, the five university teams participating in the CFA NC Society competition (Appalachian State University, Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Charlotte, and Wake Forest University) will have their presentations evaluated by a high-profile panel of investment and finance professionals from the region's top firms.
The challenge gathers students, investment industry professionals, publicly traded companies and corporate sponsors together locally, regionally, and globally for a real-world competition. In order to promote best practices in equity research and company analysis, students research, analyze, and report on a company as if they are practicing analysts. Additionally, all participants are introduced to and held to the standard of the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
The CFA NC Investment Research Challenge champions will advance to compete in the Americas Region in New York on March 16-17. The Regional winners then advance to the global finale, which this year is being held on 17 April 2010 in Hong Kong.
