Tom Loughrey, CFA has 19 years of experience among the Energy Sector and Portfolio Management. He is the founder of Loughrey Fundamental Energy, an investment fund focused on publicly traded cross-capital structure opportunities. He is also President of Friezo Loughrey Oil Well (FLOW) Partners, LLC, an advisory focused on investment solutions to private and public upstream producers.
Since 2004, Mr. Loughrey has worked as a portfolio manager and has covered the sector at NC based hedge funds: Argent Funds Group ($4bn), Raven Rock Capital ($450mm), and Silverback Asset Management ($500mm). In that time, he has invested in strategies ranging from distressed debt to long-short and convertible arbitrage. Mr. Loughrey began his career in Energy banking at Salomon Smith Barney and Credit Suisse First Boston, where he participated in over $20bn of transactions including hostile acquisitions and capital raises in a depressed commodity price environment.
Tom holds an MBA in Investment Management from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School where he was a Tiger Fellow and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.
